2019 Spirituality in Health Care Conference a Success!
Posted on: April 29, 2019, by : adminKen Homan and Mary Homan were invited by Hospital Sisters Health System to offer a full-day workshop entitled “Intergenerational Collaboration: Fostering Communities of Caring” for the annual Spirituality in Health Care Conference held at the beautiful Chiara Center in Springfield, Illinois.
Over 75 persons were in attendance ranging from hospice chaplains, nurse leaders, retired Sisters, and even a chief medical officer. The group was lively and full of questions about intergenerational collaboration. We focused on combating stereotypes, entering with a spirit of generosity and a generosity of spirit, and forming persons in mutual mentoring relationships. Participants played bingo, created life timelines replete with stickers and pipe cleaners, and played cards with various personality traits. People seemed to appreciate the rapport between a Boomer Dad and his Millennial Daughter; we might have to take this show on the road!
Check out the brochure and a sampling of what we covered at the workshop below.
